Stay in the Loop of all the happenings and updates for the North Thompson Valley
We envision a North Thompson Valley where everyone is truly in the loop: where local events are well-attended, community voices are heard, businesses thrive, and residents can easily find what’s happening—when it’s happening.
In the Loop aims to be the digital town square for our rural communities, strengthening connection, participation, and local pride across the region.

Rollout Plan
In the Loop – Project Rollout Plan
In the Loop is being built as a central hub for everything happening in the Valley — from school updates and road maintenance to art shows, new businesses, local events, and the stories of the people who make our communities special.
To make this sustainable, organized, and valuable for both residents and visitors, we are rolling the project out in phases.
Phase 1 – Building the Foundation
Focus: Gathering trusted information & growing our audience
We are currently building relationships with local contributors and trusted information sources to ensure updates are accurate, relevant, and community-driven.
If you are a:
Business
Organization
Community group
School, service, or facility
…and would like to be a contact for sharing updates, we’d love to connect with you.
Newsletter Launch
We will have two levels of Newsletter;
Monthly for the general public with some basic information about the area, happenings, business highlights and promos
The locals *membership will have all the juicy content: bi weekly, direct-to-your-inbox updates featuring local information, stories, events, and highlights from around the Valley.
*Membership Subscribers will receive full access to the Members Portal, where information will be available anytime — not just when a newsletter goes out.
Temporary Public Access
During this phase, the events calendar and select features will be available on the public website for a limited time. This allows everyone to explore how the platform works and get comfortable using it. It will always be free to advertise your events but it will live in the members portal.
Community members are encouraged to upload upcoming events and activities for the year. Add photos, links, and details for your garage sale, market, performance, course or anything else you want people to find!
Phase 2 – Launching the Members Portal
Focus: Moving community information into one organized space
In this phase, we will officially launch the In the Loop Members Portal.
This secure space will become the main home for community-based information, including:
Local updates and notices
School and civic information
Community news
The events calendar
Ongoing resources for residents
We’ll be actively encouraging residents to sign up and will be collecting feedback to improve the experience and features.
Phase 3 – Supporting Local Business
Focus: Advertising, visibility, and collaboration
Once the community hub is established, we’ll begin offering business advertising and promotional packages designed to support local economic growth.
Opportunities will include:
Content creation and business features
Highlight reels and storytelling campaigns
Display ads on the public site and members portal
Newsletter features
Blog content
Social media promotion and ad campaigns
We will also develop “Stay & Play” packages, bringing together accommodations, activity providers, restaurants, and other businesses to create bundled visitor experiences.
✨ We handle the marketing and promotion — businesses get visibility and support.
Phase 4 – Visitor & Tourism Focus
Focus: Making the public site a go-to resource for travelers
In this phase, the public-facing website will be fully optimized as a resource for visitors to the area.
It will include:
Travel and visitor information
Public updates and seasonal highlights
Local resources
Business advertising
A searchable business directory
Featured events, attractions, and must-see spots
We will actively promote this platform across the province and through social media and marketing campaigns to increase awareness of the Valley and drive traffic to local businesses and organizations.
The Big Picture
In the Loop is designed to:
Keep residents informed
Strengthen community connections
Support local businesses
Make it easier for visitors to explore and experience the Valley
This is more than a website — it’s a shared community information hub, built step by step with local voices at the centre.
Stay Informed with What Matters Locally
Access timely community updates from trusted local sources, including civic information, schools, organizations, and key industries. We also share helpful tips, lifestyle content, and important reminders — with newsletter highlights for urgent updates, deadlines, and time-sensitive notices you don’t want to miss.
